About Us
Kentucky Higher Education Student Loan Corporation (KHESLC) is Kentucky’s only not-for-profit student loan lender. KHESLC is an independent public agency created in 1978 and finances, makes, and purchases student loans.
We offer low-cost Advantage Education Loans to students and parents, as well as Advantage Refinance Loans to borrowers already in repayment.
KHESLC is part of two agencies with one mission: help our education partners, students and families achieve their goals. KHESLC and the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA), which was established in 1966, have more than 55 years’ experience making these goals a reality. In that time, we’ve remained committed to our mission, our customer service and our professional and ethical conduct.
We pride ourselves on our respect and advocacy for our stakeholders and employees. Our agencies are also committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Open Records
Pursuant to Kentucky’s Open Records Act, Kentucky Revised Statutes 61.870, et. seq., records maintained by public agencies are subject to review by members of the public. While there are exceptions to this general rule, most public records can be inspected upon submission in writing of a request to inspect and/or copy records. As an independent public agency, the Kentucky Higher Education Student Loan Corporation ("KHESLC") is subject to this Act. Therefore, anyone desiring to review records maintained by KHESLC may submit a written request to KHESLC’s Legal Services Division by mail or facsimile to the address or fax number below. This request may also be submitted electronically at compliance@kheaa.com. The request should describe with specificity the documents being requested. Finally, please note that, per KRS 61.874(1) and (3), KHESLC charges a nominal fee (currently $.10 per page) if photocopies of records are requested.
